Files over 5 GB must be uploaded directly to S3 using the AWS CLI. This is faster, more reliable, and handles files of any size with automatic multipart upload and retry.

The CLI automatically splits large files into chunks, retries on failure, and resumes interrupted uploads. A 550 GB file will upload reliably in the background.
